Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
Job Responsibilities:
- Track food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
- Analyze operational costs and other data
- Teach cooking techniques and demonstrate new equipment to kitchen staff
- Supervise chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
- Develop new recipes
- Train staff on food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation
- Prepare meals and specialty foods for events like banquets
- Supervise and prepare food for special functions or regular service
- Manage food orders and kitchen supplies
- Oversee equipment purchases and repairs
- Consult with clients for events like weddings or banquets
- Plan menus and ensure quality standards
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Recruit and hire kitchen staff
- Supervise sous-chefs and other kitchen staff
